Submission #215 | Alejandra Cardenas: Retirement Community — "For my project I studied the relationship between the Bed, Door, and Window and was most interested by the relationship between the door and window. As you enter the unit you walk into 8’ tall ceiling not knowing the ceiling slopes to a 20’ until you walk around and experience the room. The wall size windows allow each individual to fully showcase a large collection of personal jottings and memorabilia giving full control to the residents to personalize the units as they wish.

Our capitalist system encourages a culture of endless consumption, and disregards that our natural environment is the most essential resource for our continuing survival; we are facing an awareness crisis in addition to the environmental one.

Sawinya Chavanich: Iridescent Light — Iridescent Light is the project that is trying to explore the relationship between hybrid objects and lighting conditions. Each piece of small object is deliberately selected, transformed and adjusted to create the harmony and iridescent phenomena effect.
