The emptiness of this space made the surrounding buildings considerably bigger and heavier which made this side of Johnson Square a very uncomfortable place to be. The contrast between the lightness and comfort in the square and the heaviness of the site inspired this project, which has the intention to unify the opposing concepts of heaviness and lightness through its architecture and materiality.”

The introduction of formal difference into the renovation creates new spatial conditions within the existing structure which can then be viewed with a new perspective. The project deals with the renovation of a railway factory located in Taipei, Taiwan, which was the largest workshop of Taiwan Railways Administration.”

After the war, the monument was once again taken back by the Czech people and used as a museum. The isolated and unused monument remains an unpleasant reminder of the history the Czech people have faced.”

The project explores the characteristic of crystal formation, polygons and various connection of molecular joints. Prasiolite takes the inspiration from the name of green crystals which form inside the gas cavity of lavas. The exterior hard shells were able to protect the enclosed interior from the intervention of physical environment.”
