Submission #339 | Jack Blythe and Marc Francl: Housing for the Arts — “Housing for the Arts focuses on sharing the housing project and the site as a whole with the community through the integration of interconnected arts programs. These programs are composed of live/work residential units for local artists, exhibition spaces, classrooms, and mural walls created by artists and community members alike.”
Submission #317 | Timothee Mercier and Ian Lee: Bronx Supportive Living & Farming — “The housing project is an attempt to bring farming back to the Bronx residents in its current urban context, assimilating urbanism and agriculture – providing a new, intimate proximity with food. Empowering residents with a self-sustaining nutritional and financial system. A form of supportive housing, a new age of housing.”
Submission #313 | Iago Blanco and Daniel Valle: Water Pavilion — “The proposal for the Water Pavilion explores various water principles and the translation into an architectural experience. The notion of fluidity, buoyancy and constant change are principles for our proposal. The pavilion stands between a submerged and emerged level –as submarines do- defining a sensible state of equilibrium between dry and wet.”
Submission #308 | Tiago Vasconcelos: Permabioreactor — “Climate change is only exacerbating this challenge; as increasing temperatures and oceanic acidification are causing large shifts in migratory patterns of animals and reduction of fish populations; making these subsistent sources increasingly difficult to come by for Native peoples. Additionally, elevating temperatures are causing widespread permafrost thaw; wreaking structural havoc and greenhouse gas emissions.”

Drawings / Thinking / Unintentional taste accumulation about Architecture], which emphasizes the importance of drawing not only as an element of communication, but also[above all] as an ‘instrument of knowledge and understanding reality’.”
Submission #285 | Ahmad Baydoun: Escape to an Alternative-Power Archive — “This study examines the nature of territories in the region of Lebanon that are governed by alternative systems in contrast to state-based structures of governance. In these territories, the state has minimal-to-limited influence on the social, political, and economic activities of such given areas, since certain non-state actors exert a structure of governance based on their political agenda.”
Submission #271 | Karan Gajjar: Incidental Comics — The idea of an institution was spurred due to the above-mentioned state of Journalism in the country. The attempt here is to develop an institution, which would perform as a catalyst to redefine & improvise the roles of Journalism in the society. The intent is materialized by the tool of Architecture.

Space becomes separated from space and a new environment is created within, allowing changes in time, temperature and atmosphere to occur separately within and without the line of enclosure."
Submission #220 | Muhammad Ogunniyi: Sculptural Informatics — "The choice of the quarry as site is important as it allows a reconciliation between man and earth. Metaphorical relations can be drawn between war and excavation, both processes have left scars to the mind and habitat. The quarry in this instance allows the ex-military veterans to re-engage with a process that is transformative for themselves and the context."
Submission #107 | Houman Khosravi: Music for Housing — "The first exercise of of the semester was to craft a conceptual construct based on design intuition as well as my preconceived notions and views of London. Using mechanical found objects, I created three scenarios to build off of, each would become its own construct."
Submission #102 | James Brillon and Alexander Van Odom: Restructuring the Bronx — The project reconciles the infrastructural cuts that have separated the Bronx from its waterfront over the past 100 years. In the wake of the borough’s development, several north-south axes of freight train, car, and rail infrastructure have damaged the urban fabric, without consideration of local resident’s needs. To counter this, the project considers infrastructure as a tool for empowerment of local communities.

Alvarez: Architecture of Metanoia: A Study of Space and the Transformation of Consciousness — The current state of our collective consciousness creates in our surrounding the physical manifestation of a world prioritized and driven by economic forces. Our capitalist system encourages a culture of endless consumption, and disregards that our natural environment is the most essential resource for our continuing survival; we are facing an awareness crisis in addition to the environmental one.
Sara Rad: The Allegory of Morality of Mankind in Occupying Spaces — "The project considers Manhattan as a courtyard building not as a city. Manhattan is an island and central park is a huge courtyard, the buildings and towers are extruded to their maximum limit around it. A building that houses the extreme congestion and density in itself. The project talks about the morality of people; the way people occupy lands and spaces. The way they define their habitats and their cities."
Dicky Wijaya: Uthik Klithik — This project is a competition entry held in Surabaya, Indonesia. We are naming it "Uthik Klithik". Uthik Klithik is a playing installation which is made from bamboo to attract visitors for an abandoned amusement park located in Surabaya.
Bryce Bessell: The Revival — A proposal that seeks to rebel against societies ever evolving technologies and machinery, through the revival of artisan trade skills of which are slowly dissipating with the elderly who possess them. The programme attempts to diminish the current divisions in society that exist between workplace, living and leisure space in order to create a socialist environment.
Jay Jordan: Herbaceous Renaissance — In my work, I have become increasingly interested in the role of 'peripheral phenomena' in Architecture. Those objects, systems and practices that do not necessarily posses architectural or spatial specifications, but nevertheless can be seen to enrich our spaces and lives.
