By using certain element of contemporary aspects (such as typical floor plans), the thesis tries to create familiar characters while unfamiliar those characters to create misunderstanding between the old  and the new of architecture elements.

Submission #125 | Giada Maria Pillitteri: Disassemble and Reassemble Palermo North #19 — My thesis is insert in a currently research from 2007 (professors: Roberto Collovà/Gaetano Licata) about the potential of the transformation in the expansion north area of Palermo. Starting from observations about the study area emerges a North Palermo shaped by a double face: the facades show themselves as the “representative’s fronts”, the “planned” side of buildings and almost originals, who oppose the backs, internal and hidden parts that, changed over time, include heterogeneous "additions", arising from the needs of the inhabitants.

To meet the demand for commercial energy consumption, several experimental forms of energy production have been developed. This has accelerated the encounter with new dissolved solids, toxic metals, and corrosive gasses. The “beasts” or dýrið, as they are referred to by locals, are gaseous excretion systems that move across the terrain assisting with the substantial underground operations.
