Submission #256 | Stanley Tan: Market Monument — “The proposal intends to be a concentrated city intensifying the uses of the traditional city whilst becoming an alternative infrastructure to the ground conditions created by many contemporary developments.”
Submission #146 | Yanyi Ho: To-gather — "Nestled among the now abandoned compounds of the Arsenale, to-gather is a point of interaction in Venice, which seeks to revive the locals’ interest in creating and innovating, a value that the Venetians are proud to possess. The project is developed through three main concerns: firstly, site selection is guided by the locals’ familiarity to forms and spaces in order to create a facility that is relatable and recognizable.
Submission #135 | Stanley Tan Hanjie: The Lot — "The Lot: Communal Social Housing Scheme for a Garden Community and Farmers’ Market. The project studies the theme of urban-suburbanisation, calculated efficiency of a self-sustainable urban infrastructure and the design of a rural retreat. Living units are integrated into a living canopy which is used to grow organic vegetables and also works as a rainwater harvester and irrigation system. A food market is also provided for the public."
Bryant Lau: Collaborative Tower — "As the world population continues to grow, skyscrapers inevitably become a necessity - its height ever increasing in order to meet housing demands. As the tower goes higher, it severs itself further away from the ground levels, resulting in a clear sense of detachment."
Andre Lim: Continuum — This project aims to rediscover the idea of a roof, its construction techniques, materiality and overarching purpose. Relooking at the university’s existing cafeteria serves as a good medium to push the boundaries of what a roof has to offer.
Jo Hee Lee: The Rochor Curve — The aim of the project was to design a tropical high-rise development and street-scape interface that catered to mixed-uses along the fringe of the central business district in Singapore.
