Submission #172 | Jerome Lai: McGill Architecture — "He creates an 'urban condenser': a 1000x150m platform, aiming to replace the traditional fabric of streets and city blocks. It hosts residences, offices, a campus and recreational spaces. He envisions that the multiplicity and complexity of programmatic interactions relieve users from the fundamental need for space outside the platform. In the end, the platform becomes the city itself."
Lian Ren and Shuo Yang: THE CORE — "THE CORE is a social housing project located in Bronx, New York. Our housing design explores the possibility to live in various cores in order to maximize density and light. All of these cores provide structural support for all the floor structure, which is waffle slabs. The public cores are located in the center of each block to connect all the unit cores on the four sides. All the unit cores are very densely placed near the perimeter to allow for more sunlight and cross ventilation."
Maram T.R Kassab: The High Life — "Using the evolutionary futuristic visions of the science-fiction movies as a language to design the mixed use tower which consists of: Retail, Offices and Residential units, in order to create different spaces and different experiences based on the environmental/ functional and visual order of each part of the mixed use."
Piechowiak Alexandros: A Village-alike-Office Complex — The proposal aims to house the new headquarters of the Statoil company in Stavanger, a Norwegian City. The composition must organize the circulation, the collaboration and the cohabitation of 2000 people in a given site of 30.000 m2.
