Submission #122 | Asbjørn Staunstrup Lund: The Fairy Tale Of Maersk — The project encapsulates a retrospective proposal for Danish shipping magnate Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller. How a sustainable legacy could have been created in the heart of Copenhagen as an alternative to Maersk’s donation of the Copenhagen Opera House which was built in 2000.
Submission #112 | Mo Faul: Tale of Two Cities — This was a 10 week studio project based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The first half of the studio focused on developing a schematic master plan for a specific area in San Juan that covers both entrances into the shantytown the site just outside of the old fortification wall. The challenge with this project was to honor both 'sides' of San Juan, the old colonial city (Old San Juan) and the shantytown (La Perla).
Submission #98 | Jose Lacruz Vela: Vallehermoso Market Rehabilitation — The project explores the conjunction between skin and use, through the restoration of an old market in Madrid. Undertaking the need of food production within cities, while generating a new public space, intertwined with a farm and an enclosed market.
Steven Moore: Fracture — The conceptual approach will attempt to guide the process of the creation of a space where student can integrate in a collaborative way with people from a field that has been already absorbed into the growing economy of Johannesburg. This will foster the relationships of a complex economic nature, and at the same time allow the new youth unemployed to be absorbed into the marketplace.
