Additionally, elevating temperatures are causing widespread permafrost thaw; wreaking structural havoc and greenhouse gas emissions.”

Submission #209 | Kevin Garcia: The Isola Apartments — "The Isola Apartments is a Mixed-Use 104 unit residential project located in Salt Lake City, Utah. “Isola” is an Italian word that is defined as an island or a set of islands, and can most notably be seen through the concept of having two building masses rising from the streets of Salt Lake City. The building and site is designed to react to 3 main site considerations. #1 Providing the area with much needed green and public space. #2 Reacting to the adjacent UTA (Utah Public Transit System) and providing circulation space. #3 Directing occupants towards views of downtown Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountain Range."
Submission #163 | Deborah Garcia; SCI-Arc: This Is Not Your Thing — All museums construct ideal paths through a collection of objects, and construct particular ways of seeing. This cultural phenomenon of viewing art in such specifi c ways is a clear remnant of a longer history of cultural consumption laden with the rituals and decorum of an out-dated dialectic betwen the museum and architecture, between art and its container.
Submission #143 | Jonathan Garcia Leon: EXPOccs 2025 The Nepal Pavilion — Nepal "the country of the stairs" is almost entirely built on the steep slopes of the Himalayas. The staircase then emerges as the most important architectural element to be used. It is then proposed to take advantage of the topography of the site, to resemble the ascending routes made by the nepales daily, because for them "every effort is worthy".
