This idea of a predominantly passive collection changes when buildings are involved because a work of architecture can be argued to be an existing archive. This understanding further shifts the perceptions concerning the manner in which archives are presented.”
Submission #146 | Yanyi Ho: To-gather — "Nestled among the now abandoned compounds of the Arsenale, to-gather is a point of interaction in Venice, which seeks to revive the locals’ interest in creating and innovating, a value that the Venetians are proud to possess. The project is developed through three main concerns: firstly, site selection is guided by the locals’ familiarity to forms and spaces in order to create a facility that is relatable and recognizable.
Renzo Lopez: Miami Beach Digital Learning Gallery — The new Miami Beach Lincoln road Branch Library is a duality between the closed, rigid, and pragmatic nature implicit with storing printed information along with the open ended, ever expanding nature of digital information. This duality transforms the modern library into a relevant and revitalized public building which explores and pays homage to digital information.
Carlos Esponda: Navigation and Pedestrian Mobility — The maps presented are the partial results of the thesis: "Navigation and pedestrian mobility" in the historic center of Santiago, Chile. Conducted in the graduate program: Master of Territory and Landscape, University Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile. The research sought to reveal the actual degree of interaction between the system of streets.
