The Biannual Competition is a conjunction with The Archiologist Magazine. Students compete with their design projects from all places around the world to be able to be published in The Archiologist Magazine. Do you think you have what it takes to appear on the magazine?
Participants are asked to submit, through 5-6 images and a 400 word statement, project they have done in the semester indicated by the team. Projects can directly relate to the semester's purpose or a personal project done in the last 6 months. Architectural ideas, concepts and designs that explain the student's concept through renderings, sections, plans, models, or any type of visual element. Participants are encouraged to think about the notion of architecture itself and should not feel restricted to limit the creativity of their submission.
Proposals should demonstrate a high level of design capacity, explaining every move made through logic. Strong proposals are those that communicate design thought and analysis in a concise, engaging, and well illustrated way. The jury’s decision is final and sovereign in determining the 50 winners to be selected to have a page in the magazine. The jury has the right to add honorable mentions, if they feel the need to.
Winners will be featured on The Archiologist website and in the magazine. Award winners will also receive a free copy of the printed magazine, shipped to them with no cost internationally or nationally. As well as a letter of congratulations signed by the jurors. Winning student projects will be published across international platforms including websites, blogs and other magazines.
Each student (or partnership) is required to submit 5-6 images. The student can freely interpret the meaning of ‘graphic image’ and ‘drawing’ to support their submission/project. Students must place their given confirmation number as the name of the files uploaded to the form. On a separate document all teams are to provide up to a 400 word max. body of text or explanation of the project.
Students that have done their semester project with a partner(s) are more than welcome to submit their project. However, if the student fails to indicate that he/she was working in a team, they will be disqualified. We believe in awarding fair credit to all participants.
Payments for registering students in the competition are made through The Archiologist website (below). A student is not officially registered and will not receive the registration package until they complete the payment process. Following registration each team will receive an email with a confirmation number.
Make sure to keep track of this number as this is your personal identification and the only means of identifying students. We will not be showing the names of the students to the jurors, for anonymity and to keep the competition fair. Under no circumstances will members of the jury, members of the organization or persons with a direct personal or professional relationship with members of the jury be allowed to participate in this competition. The confirmation number will be necessary for the project submissions, you must submit this number to the form below. Once the registration process is complete there are no refunds of fees.
During the competition participants are allowed to send, through email, questions to The Archiologist team in if they have any questions that we have not answered. Questions will then be posted and answered on the competition FAQ webpage below at the footer section of the website in order to ensure that all participants have access to the same information.

The competition is now closed. When the competition opens, we will have more information about the jurors participating in the competition. The jury will sometimes rotate in between competitions and will change every time.
